About Phillip

Phillip and Helen Jensen

In 2003 Phillip became the Dean of Sydney at St Andrew’s Cathedral and Director of the Sydney Diocesan Ministry Training and Development (MT&D). As Dean he is guiding the Cathedral in its development as a thriving city church with the gospel clearly proclaimed as the Bible is taught. He has planted congregations which are connecting with the city dwellers, workers and players. As Director of MT&D he continues his lifelong passion for training people in ministry as he leads the department in providing ongoing training for ministers in the Sydney Diocese.

He is married to Helen and they have three adult ‘children’ and ten grandchildren. When you visit the Cathedral you can hear Phillip preach most Sundays at 10:30am, on Tuesdays at lunchtime for Cathedral Bible Study at 1:10pm (audio downloads available online) and from time to time at the City Night Church on Sundays at 6:30pm.

The Dean is a sought after speaker in Australia and internationally as an evangelist and for his perceptive and incisive expository Bible preaching. He is the author of many books including By God’s Word, Prayer and the Voice of God and the gospel presentation Two Ways to Live.
