City Youth Ministry

City Youth Ministry (CYM) is the youth ministry programme of St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney. We are dedicated to growing high school students, particularly those within Sydney city, to know and love Jesus and share their faith with others. We invite young people to join the two arms of our ministry: City Youth Group and City Youth Service.

City Youth Group (CYG) is the Bible study arm of CYM. Dedicated leaders run small groups in a relaxed environment to explore the Christian faith by teaching them how to read and understand the Bible, which is important to learn from a young age as we believe it to be the Word of God. A book of the Bible is systematically studied each term. Over an extended period, our aim is to help youth to understand the overarching message of the Bible and its impact on them and the world.

City Youth Service (CYS) is the church service arm of CYM. It was created out of a desire to allow youth to experience a church service run for youth and by youth. Running parallel with the St Andrew’s Cathedral 10:30am Morning Church service, CYS opens a door for youth to participate in a contemporary service designed for young people. We are organically building a service so that the youth can see the church as their own, and grow in learning, serving and building a community of like-minded believers for the sake of the gospel.
